Scout Blum is professor of history at Troy University in Alabama. Her research centers on the intersections of gender, race, and childhood. She is currently working on a book about the messages adults present to kids in the two decades around the first Earth Day, as well as how kids responded to those messages. She enjoys using games in the classroom and has designed a board game on the 1927 Mississippi flood, Rising Waters soon to be published by Central Michigan University Press.
